I’m writing a book at the moment - a novel. I’m just over one quarter of the way through the first draft. The goal I’ve set myself for word count is 50,000 words, but it might well end up being longer than that. It’s not the first time I’ve written a “book”. Way back in the day, before I had even gotten started in stand up comedy, I had a go at it. It was a 40,000 word novella and it was, without a doubt, rubbish. I sent it off to a few publishers but no one was interested, and I don’t blame them.
