Yesterday while on the way to the garden center with my dad (we went to get some plants to make a terrarium) we were passing down a motorway, and we noticed on the side of the road a group of stationary runners. There were about six of them, and they were circled around two more runners, both not running. One of these runners was laying on the ground, completely motionless. The other, was sitting over them, administering chest palpitations and CPR. We must have been going about 50 miles an hour past them, but even at that speed I was able to take in more than enough of the tragedy of the situation. 2 ambulances passed us in the opposite direction, taking away any personal responsibility from us. Not that there would be anything we could do, anyway. What sort of a scene would that be? ‘Step aside runners, Jen and her dad are here and we’re both woefully undertrained to deal with this situation’.
