I was standing in the line for Greggs the other day (which is a ‘bakery’ in Britain, which isn’t really a bakery because you can’t buy a loaf of bread there, just sandwiches and cakes, but they call it a bakery because it makes people feel like they’re in a bakery). I was on my way to Bristol for a gig, so had time to kill at the coach station, so thought I’d get myself a drink. Anyway, there was a woman in front of me on a video call with someone. She wasn’t speaking English, so I don’t know what they were talking about (because I am stupid and only know how to speak one language). As the line moved on a bit, the woman turned around and pointed her video call at me. She said something in a language I didn’t recognise and pointed at the screen, which at first had a young man on it & then a young woman who looked like she might be her daughter.
