I’ve been seeing a lot of “discourse” over the past couple of days about this Dylan Mulvaney song “Days Of Girlhood” and how it’s apparently “regressive” and “misogynistic” - and it’s very interesting how these criticisms only ever seem to rear their ugly head when the person involved is trans. For contrast, Lana Del Rey has some of the most old fashioned, stereotypical, regressive lyrics imaginable - and we all still manage to somehow compartmentalize our minds and tell ourselves it’s “art” or “self aware”.
