I’m at my dads today, and it’s only when I’m over here do I get to properly watch terrestrial television. Like a lot of people of my dads generation, he has his TV mostly set to ITV. I’ve always resented ITV for its obvious right wing leanings - smoothed over with a glossy studio finish and grimacing morning hosts. I have, in the past, defended its ability to make compelling dramas about serial killers - which is true, it does seem to know how to make those. It makes sense that they can pull them off though, seeing as ITV is run by sociopaths.
